Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American singer-dancer and actress. Her first Broadway performances, she starred her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. She received her Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in the Play to play Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford Tony Award winner actor has worked alongside well-known directors and actors in stage films and television. She continues this award-winning career by working on new projects. Ashford in the near future will play opposite Kumail Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive show Welcome to Chippendales which premieres the 22nd of November. Ashford is currently in the making for Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust starring Sarah Paulson. The film is scheduled to stream on Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. Ashford will return to Broadway on March 20, 2023 where he will star alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production takes place located at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton is the director of the show. Ashford was Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, which is based on the scandal that involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the national security crisis. Ashford was a part of two seasons of hit CBS comedy B Positive. It was created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the famous Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not unfamiliar with Broadway has won two Tony Drama Desk Awards as in addition to Outer Critics Circle Awards in her character in the role of Essie. The actress has also appeared in Broadway as a character in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde in addition to the original role as Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she received a nomination for a Tony Award. Her birthplace and childhood was in Denver Ashford now splits her days between Los Angeles and New York.
